Getting started

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM card that is already built into your phone. Instead of pushing a piece of plastic into a tray, you download your plan by scanning a QR code. Two minutes on Wi-Fi and it is on your phone.

Your regular SIM stays in and stays active, so you keep receiving calls and SMS on your own number while the eSIM handles your data abroad. No roaming bills from your home operator, because your data never touches it.

Good to know

A RedSim eSIM is data only. It has no phone number, which is why your SIM list shows a plan name instead of a number. WhatsApp, FaceTime and other apps keep working with your existing number.

Each QR code installs exactly once. Install at home before you fly, the plan only starts when you first connect at your destination. Ready to try? See the setup guide.
